Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are the prom queens once again winning over everyone for a second year in a row. Sure last year they were great, but this year was one thousand times better. Not only did they look great, they were so spot on with every joke, every camera angle, and every jab they could possibly get. Tina and Amy work well as hosts because they are not mean and they play fair.
The joke that everyone is talking about is the George Clooney one which is very funny. For me, nothing beats the jab at Julia Louis-Drefyus. She always plays along with everything Tina and Amy come up with, and she did not disappoint last night. She was looking like Audrey Hepburn with the glasses, smoking an e cigarette, and sitting next to Reese Witherspoon in the 'film section'. It was beautifully played, and it was one of the highlights of the night.
Now when it came down to the Best Performance By An Actor in A Television Series I was shocked when they called Andy Samberg's name for the win. It was one of those moments when they were reading out the names I thought to myself, "Ha! What if Samberg actually wins." I mean this is the same guy who was playing lazer cats, putting his dick in a box, and riding on a boat just a few years ago on SNL. Yet, to my surprise and to his own, Andy won! The best part of the win was everyone freaking out, and the camera cuts to Loren Michaels just sitting there clapping with a straight face. Typical. Also Brooklyn Nine-Nine won for best comedy series. Pretty good for a show in their first year, and also a show that no one really watches.
The best wins of the night go to my two favorite people in the business. For years we have all sat and watched Poehler not win anything. Im not a huge Parks and Rec fan, but Amy Poehler is a comedy goddess to me and I just wanted to see her win something. They call the names for Best Performance By An Actress In A Television Series and I was ready to watch Julia Louis-Dreyfus win yet again. This year, however, was different for Amy. They called her name, she made out with Bono, and that is how Poehler won her first Golden Globe.
P. Diddy and the guy who had butterfly clips in his hair talking about a trip. The guy just won for Best Original Score, but the thing that was important to him at that moment was reminding P. Diddy that they were once on a same boat together. Also P. Diddy tried to hug Bono, but Bono was not feeling it. Honestly why the hell was P. Diddy even there?
Seth Meyers had an absolute look of joy when Andy Samberg won. Seriously, it was a great night to be an SNL alum.
I would like to speak to the person who decided to put Taylor Swift at the front table. Not only did she have no business sitting at that table, but she was seated next to Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep! Who in the hell thought that was a good idea? Not only did she probably not appreciate that, but she has zero business being at the Golden Globes. Please just do everyone a solid and go write another album I can compare my life to. Love her music, but girl needs to stop showing up to award shows.
Amy Poehler pretending to be Tina Fey's son from a previous relationship was another highlight of the night. He was supposedly Mr. Golden Globe, and just wanted to know who his father was because Tina never told him. Randy a.k.a Amy, then proceeded to go up to Idris Elba and ask...
